I've seen lots of .22 rimfires that are down-sized for kids. I'm wondering if anyone makes a flintlock like that, small caliber (.32 or .36), scaled down, short length of pull, etc. Small enough to get the kids in the habit of 'smoking' at an early age. ::

I've looked at the Dixie Cub, but it's just a regular rifle with a short barrel. It's not actually scaled down to fit a kid. Know of any?

Just a few weeks ago I was at a local gun store and saw a rifle labeled as "youth model". It was a .50 cal caplock rifle, with a short barrel (maybe 22 or 24 inches), and a small wood stock. Don't know the manufacturer, tough.

Gents,

CVA was making a scaled down version of their Bobcat rifle called the Youth Hunter. It is a sidelock with a 1:48 twist barrel and a wood stock for less than $200. Unfortunatly, CVA has gone all in-line now and has stopped producing any of their sidelocks. However, many retailers are still selling what they have left. Deer Creek Products told me that they bought all of CVA's sidelocks from their warehouse and should have a lot of CVA products to sell for a while anyway.
