I am in the process of selecting a kit to build. I am interested in a Early Lancaster flintlock or an Ohio Vincent percussion halfstock. My experience is building several Pedersoli kits where everything is pre-drilled and only minor shaping is required. What kit should I purchase for my level of experience, a long rifle or a halfstock. I don't want to get over my head, but I think its time to move up to a custom kit with more challenge. What kit is recommended and is less difficult to build.

Pecatonica kits are almost completely shaped and are inletted for all the big parts. You'll still need to drill the holes and if you want to carve there's enough stock to do it but if not it won't look clunky. I've been very satisfied with the quality I've received from them.
