Knapping / sharpening hammer

Picked up this little jewelers hammer head at the flea market for a buck last weekend.
Spun up a handle on the lathe. Tried a different shape, something that will fit better in my fingers while still being very short, and offer a bit more control than a straight handle.

As long as the hammer head is soft steel and doesn't draw sparks, that should be a nifty little knapping hammer.
