This is peek at a knife, big bowie the blade is a big coil spring from my father work, handle is elk, going to be a small piece of wood the the guard,

Looks like you have a good looking start. Pewter works fine for bolsters too, and it's easy to work with.

I been looking at some black and white photos of a trapper he has a beade bowie case
 
Well I got done with it, and decied the elk leg was not working so i had some mule deer antlet mesquite and white tail anter.The guard :shake: is brass I get the measured in the morning comments please thanks

Looks like you have some filed 'jimping' on it, so it will file? if not may be too brittle for rough work. looks good tho.
 
Thanks blizzard when I was draw filing i get to caught up and forgot to clean the file
