So I noticed the Pedersoli LeMat posted in the market place and I couldn't find anything on the net about it so I'll defer to the experts. What was the production span for it and is the quality as good as other Pedersoli repro's?

thanks in advance

COD

I dont know about production span..but the quality is top notch..They are Great CONFEDERATE Handguns... There is one for sale in this forums classifieds....

Navy Arms has been selling a LeMat for nearly 20 years as I recall. I just checked my 1977 copy of the Navy Arms Cat and it isn't listed there. I also have a 1978 wholesale price list. No LeMat listed there either.

(A first model Walker listed for $137.50) Oddly they offerred no Remington repros back then. And a Replica Zouave was $75.00 to the dealer)

from my book (5th edition blue book of modern black powder arms) pedersoli never made nor commissioned a lemat.. the seller admited that it is a mistake - made by pietta.

ps. to the best of my knowledge currently only pietta is actually making them (mine has a date code of CC = 2008) but if you are really lucky you might find one with navy arms on it *but* even those were made by pietta.

+1, as far as I know Pietta has been the only maker of the LeMat repro's.

Does anyone know if the LeMat sold by Navy Arms has their name on it? If Davide Pedersoli made them they would cost 2k.

I believe you are correct about Pietta being the sole maker of LeMats. Every Navy Arms import I've ever seen had their name on it somewhere. They generally use small letters so it's not obtrusive unlike some who use billboard size fonts.

also, look closly, but i'm almost certain a true navy arms from the "golden era" does *not* have roll engraving on the cylinder.. they were pretty lean and mean.

i wonder what they sold for back in the day.

I guess that depends on when "the day" really was.

In 1987, Dixie Gunworks catalog shows a Navy Arms LeMat revolver with good old Turner holding it above the ad.

The ad says it is a 9 shot .45 based on a Second Model LeMat with a loading lever hinged to the left side of the barrel. There price at that time was $500.00
