The patchbox on my Dickert is similar, has the clover leaf top, and a top-button lid release

I think the top button release for the patchbox, is on such a more refined level. Simple parts, amazing execution....

I guess it would depend on when early is, that patchbox is rather elaborate , multi pieced for what most call an Early lancaster, the carving behind the cheakpiece looks almost a bit Hainesish to me?...no Oerter? maybe who Dickert learned it from? wouldn't that patchbox be likely post 1775-1780ish, nice gun, probably bits of several inspred it.
