Can anyone post pics of a Dickert (or similar) Lancaster rifle looking into the muzzle (I'm trying to figure out how much wood to take off around the moulding termination and the nose cap areas). Pictures of the side moulding along the ramrod channel close to the nose cap would also be appreciated to use as a reference. Thanks guys! :)

Trey,

These areas are determined by the muzzlecap and it's relation to the barrel channel and ramrod groove.
The wood on the forestock should be shaped down to the same profile as the nose cap all along the barrel channel. The forestock should then be taped (with at round shape not a V shape) down to the ramrod channel.

It's kind of hard to explain with out pointing to the pieces. But the easiest way is to inlet the nosecap and like I said use it for a guide.
You will notice that most people leave too much wood on the fore stock. The front part of the forestock, (ahead of the entry thimble) should continue the shape of the nosecap throughout.
Hope this helps.
