Here's an update on my matchlock build. Yes, I know it's not looking like I did much, but that's how I roll. When the mood strikes I work on it. Today, I carved off that block of wood they leave on so it can go into the vice. The draw knife I bought for another project worked good to remove a lot of wood quickly. I left a little extra in case I need to tweak things a bit when the sanding starts. I guess all that's left is to fit the butt plate, sand the stock, install the barrel bands( even though it's going to be pinned to the stock) and a few other odds and ends.
