Can anyone tell me if it's OK to just use the LMF Permawax inplace of the Permaseal? or is there anything I can/should use such as tung/danish oil if I don't have Permaseal before using the Permawax? Thanks.

No. I use their products from stain to wax and it goes on in this order.
1. Stain;
2. Sealer;
3. Finnish;
4. Wax.
The wax is used to protect the finish of the entire rifle, wood, metal, everything.
Also Laurel Mountain is a joy to use. So far I have a light honey .45, and a nut brown .50 and am starting another .50 today that I will use nut brown on.

Laurel Mt Forge produscts are very high quality!

That is all I use on my muzzleloaders.
