Awhile back there was a thread about trouble getting in touch with LC Rice. I started to respond as I was having a time getting ahold of him myself. I had a barrel ordered and was wanting some info, but couldn't seem to be able to talk to anyone. But I'm glad I kept my mouth shut.
I now have two fine Rice barrels and LC has called me more than once to make sure we were on the same page. He will get my business again.
I emailed Joe Wood confirming the price of his coning tool and asked if I could send a check. He replied that if I would send my address he would go ahead and ship the tool. We both mailed on the next day. The tool arrived in 2 days and my check did'nt get to him for almost 2 weeks.
I just wanted to tell you fellers about these guys. You can't do better than dealing with these 2.

I have dealt with LC on numerous occasions & the guy is simply a great person to deal with. Now I will tell ya right off he is hard to get in touch with at times, but he will get to ya. Demands on his products has him running ragged, so he must be doing something right.......... And I just love talking to him, as he is funny & joking & always in a good mood.

As for Joe Wood, I don't know of a guy that could be any easier to deal with....... period. I called Joe and told him I wanted 3 coning tools, gave him my address & I had the tools Long before the check could have gotten there. Super Super guy to deal with for sure.......

I ordered a coning tool from Joe Wood for my .54 last week and when he told me the payment method you could of knocked me over with a feather. I made a special effort to get a check out that day.

Anyone who trusts me like that in these times of C.O.D. and contracts I will not disapoint.

Funny thing about Joe Wood, every time I call him, he's cleaning Colt pistols...

Well, I just have to add my two cents on both these gentlemen--I have spoken to both of these men exactly twice (one time for each of them) and on both occasions, I've gotten their respective products BEFORE I've paid them. I spoke to Joe Woods a couple of weeks ago regarding a .50 and .54 caliber coning tools and received both within 2 days. And I can tell you he makes one great tool--easy to use and good quality! I coned 2 .54 caliber barrels in one night using them-just take your time and don't get in a hurry and the results are fine.
I spoke to LC Rice on Feb 10th regarding a .54 caliber barrel for a Chambers Isaac Haines kit and received it today! This barrel is the best I have seen as far as finish and detail. This is without sending him a cent, but you can bet the money is the mail ASAP! Both of these men are as good as gold--they'll do what they say!

Like you, when such is done on trust, I would never, ever betray that trust. On the other hand, there are a few in the business I will never, ever trust, again.

Joe Wood also makes a fantastic little flint knapping tool that you rarely hear about. I own two of them and bought two for my brother.I have done business with him also and he is a GREAT person..
