A word of caution here if you have never handled molten lead. Be sure to heat the mold so there is no chance of moisture in the metal on the first pour. Also the ladle if used,since any moisture will cause the pot of lead to explode or act in a violent manner. Safety glasses are recommended. Drop the balls on a padded surface and let them set a while to cool. An old hammer handle makes a nice hitter for cutting off the sprue. There is a degree of satisfaction in doing well on a hunt or match with "home made" ball.
