Leather question?

How thick is 5 oz. leather? :hmm:

I have read a good bit of posts on here, and everyone seems to refer to 5 oz. leather for alot of projects. I have some vegetable tanned leather that is 1/8" thick. How does this compare the 5 oz. being mentioned?

1 oz. is equal to 1/64" thick. From there you just gotta do math.

O.K., so that means I have 8.3 oz. leather.
