I have a Springfield Stalker, .45 caliber, that I have just started to work with. I have the Lee 45 Minié-type bullet mold, which throws a .45 caliber hollow based bullet at 312 grains.

Since this gun looks so much like it's .58 caliber big brother, I thought a Minié would be the place to start. My old Lyman reloading manual has loads for a similar bullet, only lighter in weight.

Have any of you had any experience with this bullet?

I have used them in .45 and .50 caliber and they work well for me if they fit pretty tight in the bore . To loose and the skirt does not swell out enough for the bullet to be accurate .I have added 1 layer of aluminium tape to to the mold halves to make the bullets about 4 thousands bigger so they fit my bore better .
