Lehigh Small Frame Schimmel Build.

Here is a Lehigh Schimmel build I've been working on this last few weeks. Will be picture heavy to start to catch everyone up.

Will utilize a small Siler and a Colerain A weight 45 barrel that I swamped further to get it under 3.75 lbs.

Started with a large TOW sand cast trigger guard. 6 hours later.

Thinned up my lockplates a bunch more today along with the forearm. Into final shaping and scraping soon. Also flared and octagoned my ramrod thimbles.

I hope it’s not a cheek slapper like the one I built (I didn’t know better and used a free blank too narrow for enough cast off)

Harry met Sally today, ramrod rod thimbles installed and further work on the architecture on the Lehigh Schimmel.

Yep I started the pitting process around the breech and muzzle and french grayed all the metal. There will be a bunch more to be done to it in the aging process this just started the ball rolling.

That looks amazing...I love that detail on the antiquing process that you used.

I have a TVM gun on order. Once it arrives; I'm going to try my hand on a Kibler Kit...I would like very much to pick your brain on that barrel finish...
