I've browned many bbls and parts w/ LMF and previously used other browning agents and through trial and error have eliminated all but LMF. Using only LMF... application, humidity, time and temperature each have to be determined to achieve an excellent brown and the most important are application, humidity and time. To facilitate all of the above factors, we have to create or realize what factors are lacking and then supply them. Another factor previously mentioned is the patience of the "operator" and I agree that w/ our modern psyche, everything must be immediate or it "boggles" our minds that sometimes "slow" is better. In the winter time when our humidity is very low and when I prefer to build most of the LRs, it's really "no big deal" to achieve excellent browns if all the above factors are supplied including a measure of patience....Fred
