Hi fellas,
I got this over the summer. It doesn't fit me quite right so now it's looking for a good home.
Percussion lock
Double set trigger configuration
39" barrel
1:66 twist
.54 cal
Unfired
Weighs 7.5lbs and balances nicely.
Overall length 54.75"
8:9" across the flats (0.88")
It's definitely a good gun, just not a good gun for me is all.

I don't know much about the breech design on these blue mountain rifles, but is it such that the lock could be swapped out for a flintlock with little modification other than inletting the stock for it?

I’ve got one just like this except in 36. I bought a Pedersoli flintlock lock for mine and in bolted right in without any fitting. These are great guns!

If you buy the Pedersoli lock - there is no inletting or changes that need to be made. It's a direct swap.
I've done 2 of them (cap to flint) and it takes less than 30 minutes.... and can be changed back just as easy.

It's a 1:66 so made specifically for round ball. Not sure how determine the depths of the groove, nor what classifies as deep groove, I sorry to say.

These are not "deep groove" like a Rice or Colerain deep round groove barrel. They will, however, shoot patched round balls extremely well. The square bottomed grooves in their barrels are pretty consistent with what I have seen in Green Mountain barrels.

Frankly, it's hard to beat Pedersoli's barrels for accuracy at the price of their rifles. I've owned three and all were exceptionally accurate with PRB. In fact, I found my .54 (same as being sold in this ad) to shoot both PRB and the Hornady Great Plains Bullet, which was surprising considering the slow twist.
