I just went and spent my milk money on a newly used Hatfield Pedersoli .45 cal.
Does anyone have any load data for PRB,REAL,MAXI loads?
I'm looking for target loads 50-100 meters.
any starting info would be greatly appriciated.

My pedroseli 45 caliber likes a 440 prb with .013 patch lubed with 80%lard 20% beeswax, leather over powder wad, and 43 grains FFFg geox or Kik.Prb is all I shoot in mine. But my boy's jukar barreled CVA also like a short hollow based mini over 60 grain FFFG.

The twist will probably determine which projectile you use. It can't shoot all 3 good.

I am not sure, but you most likely have a slow twist for a PRB. As far as the load, start with about 45 gr FFFg (Swiss if you can get it) and work up in 5 gr increments to find what charge it likes best. You should also sight in your pet load at closer distances and then sight your rifle for the long distance.

Lube with Ballistol wet patches. I do not know your availability, but I use a mixture of beeswax and mutton tallow for patches if I am not using Ballistol.

Standard rifling twist rate for Pedersoli 45's like the Hatfield is 1:48" if I recall correctly. I'd expect that to be quite accurate with patched round balls and REALs, as well as shorter maxi's. I doubt it would perform with the very long conical 45's.
