Does anyone have any experience with this kind of loading press? Would it work for occasional shooting?
Had two both broke quickly.
The press at powderinc is a good start but I had to add a larger base and longer arm to it.
Hasn't broken yet and works on all revolvers.

You can easily make one much stronger than the production models. This one is constructed of spare scrap steel and a valve spring.
Contrary to popular belief you don't need an adjustable pin up the base pin/arbor hole in the cylinder to keep the chamber lined up when seating the ball. The round ball and loading plunger will find it's own center every time without fail not tipping in the least.

Yes I do, and it sucks. Just use the lever on your gun, or if that is not an option, spend the money to get a decent one. It will work for occasional shooting, but offers no advantage over the on gun rammer, which is well, on the gun, and much more convenient.

I have one that is like the one on the photo in principle but made of steel and it does all I ask of it. It's far simpler than loading in the gun. I can't recommend the one in the photo though as I've read posts by folks that have broken them, need a steel base. Shop around.

Yeah, the loading lever is broke, and a replacement doesn’t exist due to the age of the gun.

I bought the traditions loading press and added a larger base. Its chincy but cheap. It seems to work ok with my larger base but I will not be surprised when it breaks. It has however been working well for about a year of weekly use.

I made this one some years ago and It works very well for me. It may be a bit elaborate for some, but it does do the job very well. The original design started off with a long lever arm affair but that did not work out well. I saw a YouTube video of a guy that used a latch mechanism, so I stole his idea and came up with this design. Pictures are self-explanatory.

That’s very nice. Beyond my capabilities, but that’s cool.
