easier, faster, and safer.
Lazy, non period correct, and safe is in the eye of the beholder.
Some of us load and fire our period revolvers was not safe according to the order of arms.
So modern know it all folks think they know more than the folks that depended on these for their lives.
You all are living a falsehood, not doing things the way they did it back in the day.

Why?
They did not exist until a few years ago.
Wonder what folks did for all those 100s of years without them.
They simply learned how to load the things while holding the, I do it always so that when I do a trail walk I'm not dependent on
hauling along a bunch of junk. Same with the revolver. Lots of TC Contenders got broken handles because of loading blocks.

I am at an age where I want easy. I know you can load on the gun and in the field it makes more sense. But for plinking or target shooting, why make it harder? The older I get and the problems that come with it, why use the loading lever on the revolver while trying to brace the gun? I would much rather use a cylinder press or at least a loading stand. Also, if you are at the range, it is much safer to use a loading stand or cylinder press. Just how does one load on the gun and keep the muzzle pointed downrange at the backstop?
