Today I researched the weights of an original Enfield type III three band rifled musket and reproductions that can be found on the market. An original was 9.5 #. A Euroarms, which is really more like a type IV, is 9 #, rounded off. An Armsport is 10.5 #. A Pedersoli is 8.6#, rounded off. Someone said the difference is because the density of European walnut is greater than that of American walnut. I think the differences are because of the amount of wood in the stock.
