I shoot in long range competition. the most common rifle used is the pedersoli Gibbs long range muzzleloader. 1-18"twist .45. they are very, very accurate. reading the wind is the most critical part, just like in modern high power competition. also, we shoot the modern high power target as well, the bull is 48" on a 6'6' white. the best shooters are nearly always in the high 80's to mid 90's (out of 100). there is also a 1200yrd match at camp atterbury in October. best game in the world.
