I'll second Middlesex Village. I have a brass barrelled blunderbuss from them and it's a blast!

Personally, I'd try and find one with an iron/steel barrel instead of brass. JMHO, YMMV.

Middlesex Village has steel barrelled blunderbuss's as well. I stick with lighter loads and no powder finer than 2f.

...And if you police up a fist full of empty .22 cases around the range, you can turn a 10W-30 can into a pile of kitty litter! :rotf: :rotf:

Don't ask how I know!!! :blah:

I have the Middlesex Doglock Blunderbuss and it makes me smile for hours after shooting it.

The two companies to deal with are Middlesex or Loyalist Arms IMO as they both stock parts and stand behind their firearms. MH has nice firearms but no parts in stock... and why they claim to order them in for you... what's a year wait for a part you have to hand fit? :winking:

Cheers,

DT

I just ordered one from Jack Gardner at Tenn. Valley Manufacturing. He will have it for me to take home from Dixion's gun fair.
Can someone give me some ideas for a good load. it is 75 cal.
Thanks
Craig

Although you can use the normal .75 bess loads of 80 grains of FFg and up, because of the lighter weight of a blunderbeast I'd recommend going with about 60 grains. Out of my old honker, it tossed most of the junk I chose to stuff in it just fine. yes, I had to try all the stuff you hear about in old tales including small stones, glass, nails, links of chain and even marbles...to be honest, marbles just came to me in fevered fit. They did turn to dust when shot against cement! Whee! :youcrazy:
