I believe it’s made of mild steel, maybe iron. I imagine that someone could fabricate a shorter spring for it.
Obviously your extremely knowledgeable and definitely experienced when it concerns all subjects about Muzzleloading and general Black Powdered Firearms, both Authentic Antiques and Modern Customized Kits and Semi Modern Reproductions.
In your Honest Opinion, am I looking for a "needle" in a Humongous Haystack?
Obviously I don't know anything, but there must be an Extremely Large and Very Lucrative Market for Antique Spare Parts , wheather Replicated, Recast or Original! Personally, I have been "Learning" how to Restore Antique Military Edged Weapons because there's a Humongous and Extremely never ending Demand for that Very Specialized Service!
If you can do something special and extremely well, I can Promise you that you'll get tired of Counting Money!
Be Well, Shoot Straight and Damn the Torpedoes!
Sincerely,
Ramiro Guerrero

Honestly your best bet would probably be to get one fabricated by a reputable maker, that way it’s the size and design you want
Thank You Kindly for your time and efforts to Help Out a Complete Newbie!
I guess that I just need to keep looking. Someone actually sent me an email saying that their Fabrication Shop could cast a Replica but I have to wait until they reopen.
Be Well,
Ramiro

I Finally Found My "Almost" Exact Same Belgian Percussion 1850's Blunderbuss! Oddly the Powder Box Cover is on the Opposite side and I can't see if the Underside of the Stock is Intricately Carved like mine, but at least you Boys can finally get a good look at the Seashell and My New Toy!

The following website has my item pictured: www.coleccionrosattoblogspot.com
Just search "Blunderbuss."
Maybe just coleccionrosattoblogspot.com
Please take a quick look!
Thank You Kindly,
RG
