I've been thinking about buying an Kentucky flintlock Pedersoli pistol... I dunno what I'll be doing with it besides admireing it... I'm not into reenacting yet

Why not shoot it, and get good at it? It's fun and will teach you good habits in marksmanship.

PS I used to drag race and go swimming where you live.

Pedersoli makes some nice replicas. If your in the mood for something to just handle and look at check out there Queen Anne flintlock pistol nice lines that scream transitional weapon.

I almost forgot to mention... I ordered the 2006 Dixie Gun Works Catalog just to see what they are offering... I ordered it a few years ago as well... Personally I hate ordering stuff online the only time I usually do is if I can send a money order (hate checks) for payment...

If you like the Pedersoli's -- try:

Most of us have had good luck with this supplier.

On our club web page there is a .69 Charleville for sale for about $200. Might pay to take a look. http://geocities.com/menominee02 . Its under the Trade heading on the first page.

I've never heard anything really bad about Pedersoli's flint, Kentucky pistols. Just minor stuff that most of us can probably fix in our home shops. However, they always looked "clubby" to me....might take a look and see what Track of the Wolf has to offer right now. I bought one from Track and it is considerably more sleek than the Pedersoli's. Or you might try one of their kits if you'd enjoy that.

I hate to rain on anyones parade :( However I will never buy from Cherrys again., I orderd a Swamped Brass Queen Anne from them 7/13/05 and am still waiting. They do not call me., I have to call them to get the every 2 month update that they havent got it yet? I hate to complain., but I was charged for the Pistol almost 7 months ago and do not have a pistol. We have a new agreement ., that being if I cant have my money back or the pistol feb 1 06., then I will let Capital One get my $279.00 back for me. :nono:

Not real good business in my particular case., perhaps they are really nice., but I havent seen it.

I did however call Middlesex Trading Village on 12/29/05 and recieved a very nice brass barreled Ketland trade pistol by 1/3/06 and the man on the phone hooked me up with patches.,balls., and answered alot of questions to help me. (I've never fired a flintlock pistol) We did get a shower of white hot sparks tho., then finally got GOEX and tried flashing the pan., Wow., it works better than I thought one would. 2/4/06 we go on the our first shoot.
If I need another pistol and Middlesex has what I am interested in., thats where I will go.
Best of luck to you.
