Ok, I have 1500 patches that need to be lubed up for shooting. 1500 shots in three hours. I am going to us Lehigh Valley. How do you get 1500 patches wet? Lehigh comes with in a spray bottle.

WB,
Do you have a semi-auto muzzleloader? I can just barely get 5 shots off at silouhettes in 15 minutes. Are you "shootin" for some kinda record?

Lay out your patch material, saturate with lube, fold material and compress, (I use a 2 ton arbor press with steel plates) unfold, then cut out your patches.

BTW, what the hey are you going to use for shooting 1500 shot in three hours?

Why not just dump your lube in some kind of shallow tray and then scatter your patches in layers.Of course, I'm guessing your not planning on shooting 1500 shots with no clue as to how your going to lube your patches now are you?

Hmmmmmm Hmmmmmmm Slowpoke looks into his crystal ball...... I'm guessing 300 boy scouts.

I'm working with the boy scouts in 2 weeks and working through the same type of situation. Use a gallon size zip lock bag. In go the patches, in goes the lube, shake shake and we're all done. Then a handful goes in a sandwich ziplock bag to each station. I'm not going to the added expense of Lehigh Lube, we're just gonna use water as a lube. (spit patch)

Slowpoke,
:hmm: My ball is showing the same
picture....
WB,
I'm sure you are not figuring on
one patch per shot...I'd go 1 1/2 or 2. At some
point those barrels will need wiped down. A spray
bottle at each station with dry patches and a
sprayed just prior to loading may be the most
cost effective way to go. Just an opinion.
BTW...Thanks for your work with the
BSA. :applause:
snake-eyes :hatsoff:

olive oil, murphy's oil soap, crisco and the microwave...there are also a lot of other lubes that will work for you that might be a little cheaper and or easier. not dissing any of the replies here. just looking at the volume aspect.
The gallon ziplock concept is one I would probly go with!
have a good time with the scouts,
Brett (an asm)

Slowpokes got it right, ziplock bag and water.
Using water you should never have to clean between shots.

to answer the question:

1500 shots in 3 hours by 300 boy scouts.

Being a Ballistol/water user, I'd suggest that. It's sure easy to do a lot of patches. Dump them in a bucket, pour the Ballistol/water over them, take them out and spread to dry. Good to go, cheap, and not too messy. Use the leftover Ballistol/water to swab/clean with.

Either way, it sounds like a fun and rewarding project. Best of luck to you and the Scouts!

Try GO-JO, the mechanics hand cleaner for cheap and effective lube/cleaner. put patch material in a zip-lock bag and dump tub of GO-JO in and squeeze around for awhile.
