Lubing cylinder pin?

How do y'all lube your revolver cylinder pins? I put a small amount of light grease on mine. Any other suggestions?

If it's an 1858 Remy it must have a grease coat
The Colt's too but the Remy really needs it. I use
a good axle grease....

I like to use a grease that is non-petroleum based. Don't know if it matters or not since it is not subject to the combustion process. Emery

I have a couple small tubes of grease I got with my Penn fishing reels. It is light and very slick. I lubed my cylinder pin with it and it's slick as snot. I was wondering what everyone else used. I assume whether or not it's petroleum or not doesn't matter since it shouldn't really be affected by fouling.

I agree with Mykeal, I use T/C Bore Butter on both the colts and remy's.

Gents,

I got some T.C. gorilla grease for the nipples of my guns so i've used it on the cylinder pin also. I guess I will see how it works.

I use a light coating of Ballistol. Better than that was Tetra, but I don't carry it with my muzzleloaders, so I don't use it anymore. I never had good luck with anything thick or grease like. It seemed to attract more fouling and bind sooner. That might be because of the dry climate here and the dust. Grease seems to attract dust like a magnet.

I use Stumpy's moose snot on the pin and over the chambers. Works very well for me :thumbsup:
