I have accumulated between myself and 2 sons a total of 4 small game percussion rifles. 3 .32's and a .36. We have many maxiballs for these rifles but no sure, fast way of lubing with borebutter and the likes. I have heated bb and poured into a cylinder filled with maxi's but wasn't impressed with the out come. Any suggestions?

Poured into a cylinder full of maxis? The 'prescribed' method is to set the Maxi's nose up in a shallow tray (i.e. sardine tin) and pour the lube around them, then place in the refrigerator. Pull the Maxies out when the lube has coagulated. Reheat and repeat.

My actual method is to friction fit as little of the nose as necessary to hold them in the base of a T/C Quick Shot and smear the lube on thick over the rings with my finger, then push the bullet in the rest of the way, allowing the loader to trim the excess.

Actually a capped tube, not really a cylinder. Filled the straight tube with maxi's and poured the borebutter in and let cool. Tube was a little big, .50 cal. This didn't work very good.

sduve Here is what I do to lube my conicals I don't use bore butter but use a 60/40 mix of beeswax @ crisco and a teaspoon of olive oil .I apply the lube to fill the groves on the MAXI or R.E.A.L. CONICALS then push it threw a 50cal. speed loader plastic tube .

We use round electrical tape tins...place the bullets in the tin but not tight together, leave some space. Heat up your desired lubricant, put it in the refrig to solidify and we would get a tube about 4 inches with the inside diameter the same as the bullet. Just go around puching the bullets out of the tin, they will self feed up the tube and come out of the top. As they come out the top, pick them up carefully and place them in a drilled out board to shoot at the range or load your quick loads. When the bullets are all gone, melt it down again, set some bullets back in and add more lubricant as needed.

Well, I melted a lb of Crisco and a lb of beeswax this weekend. Went thru 500 .32 maxi's, 100 .36 maxi's, and 180 .54 conicals. Worked out great in a non-stick pan and pushin them out with my thumb. Have a lot of lube left too. Thanks for the replies. sduve
