Considering putting a Lyman sight on my TC New Englander. Rifle is good. Only had about a year but I’m 76 and eyes not so good as when I was younger. Having trouble getting consistent sight picture over the original V notch sight and my groups are not good. My tang has 2 screws. Understand I need a 3rd to mount this sight. Will this be a good fit for me and my gun

Yes, you will need to drill & tap one hole. And to work on your gun you will need to shim or make a spacer under at least on end to bring it up level to your barrel which likely will require a longer rear tang screw.

I had one for sale here until a couple days ago with the globe front sight too. Didn't seem to be any interest so I withdrew it.

Take a look at the Pedersoli "Ghost" sight as well.
I found the side mounted Lyman and Williams sights are a PAIN and ugly too.
The "Ghost" is slim and trim and unobtrusive - and is adjustable for both windage and elevation.
