Hats off to whoever posted the suggestion to use brake cleaner to get this stuff out. :hatsoff:

On my others I've worked and worked to get that miserable stuff out, and nothing seemed to work all that well. But if you don't get it out, the rifle doesn't shoot up to its potential.

Tried the brake cleaner (aerosol from NAPA) on the kit I just finished, simply spraying the patches and making one pass each with a jag. Six patches and that bore is silvery bright. No harm to the browning either, so this stuff is the real deal for all new Lyman owners.
 
Accurate or not, you win the lottery for credit, Rebel. One more feather for the forum!

Has anyone tried this for more than the initial cleaning? I can see where it might be really hard on "barrel seasoning," but you gotta love the appearance of that mirror bright bore!
