I have had a few small problems with my new Great Plains Rifle. After the last time out shooting I was cleaning the barrel and noticed that the ramrod was cracked part way through. Not a good thing. I also had a hard time getting the rear wedge pin to stay in place. I had put up a question regarding the wedge pin on the gun builders forum and had gotten some great advice. But I had figured that I would be buying a new ramrod. There was no way they could replace a broken wood rod. Well my more intelligent wife suggested that I call Lyman to see what they would say. I hemed and hawed about it for a few days. This morning I called and guess what, they are sending replacements for both the wedge pin and the ramrod. Was I ever surprised. No questions asked. I am very impressed with the Lyman customer service. I will also have tell my wife she was right again...

I'm glad Lyman has good custemer sevice. I always buy from October Counties, brass under barrel ram rod and put the wooden one away. both ends are taped for 10 28 threads and useing the T/C "T" handeled short starter which also has 10 28 threads for pulling stuck jags and such. My 2 cents F.K. P.S. the reason I liked to hear they had good cusomer sevice is I have a GPR in .54. so it is always good to know.

I had too many problems with my lyman stock ramrod, so I had the machineshop cut me a length of 3/8 brass rod with threading for the fixtures. I also drilled a hole at the top so that I can insert a nail for leverage to remove balls and stuck patches.

It does add weight, is not authentic, but it works for me.

I use the ramrod under all of my muzzleloaders for looks only or in some cases hunting. I'm firmly in the camp of solid brass range rods and October Country is my favorite {but not only source} I tried the brass under rods and they didn't thrill me so I keep the ramrod in place or take it out and put it in a safe place and do all the work with the solid brass rods
When all is done I clean my guns, and polish my brass rods, the wood rods stay pristine

First off, NEVER tell your wife she was right! You'll never hear the end of it.

Lyman has some of the best customer service I have dealt with.

Lyman has really great service. They replaced a stock on one of my two trade rifles.

I only use a range-rod. The wooden rod under the barrel is only for show. The first time I might actually get to use it will be this Sunday, at a shoot that may be set-up as a woods-walk.

Enjoy you Lyman to the fullest!

I am impressed to hear that their service equals their excellent products. :hatsoff: :hatsoff:

It is nearly the same with the european producer of the Lyman arms Investarm. They also have a good servic and replace parts by there german traders. Seems to be a kind of policy.

I am glad to hear that Lyman took care of you. On the other hand, they are trying to keep up with T/C which is a tough act to follow in the customer service realm.

Lyman generally made its mark in accuracy.

I have always had good luck with Lyman's Customer Service. When I lost a barrel wedge pin while hunting, they sent me one free of charge. When I was building my GPR kit and had some questions, they were always friendly and helpful. Can't say enough about their service or their product  .

I have dealt with them 3-4 times.

Polite, knowledgeable, fast, fair.

Parts were always sent the same day I called 'em

All in All
