I really like my Lyman GPR it's .50 Cal. And I just looked at a GPR in .54 Today,.... Trying to get a deal going on it.

I've got a .50 Flint LeftHand GPR & just finished working on an old & neglected .54 Deerstalker.

My next flint will be .54 cal. Been looking around for lefties & a trade rifle may be just the ticket.

I think the Lyman is an excellent choice. I once owned a .54, and I am sorry I ever sold it. I would build it from a kit rather than buy it. That way you can brown the barrel instead of bluing it, for a more historically accurate rifle.

I recently refinished a .50 Lyman Trade Rifle, bleaching and staining the stock, and then stripping the blue, and then browning the barrel. I prefer the .54 personally, but both shoot well and are good for target shooting and hunting.

Best of luck with the one you choose.

Regards,
John
