I'm with the rest of 'em that it's not needed.
Clean right by flushing the barrel, patent breech, flame channel and nipple with water, dry well, load with the hammer on half-cock, you'll never have a problem. :thumbsup:
 
Replace the nipple with a new hot-shot type and you won't need a musket cap.
 
thanks for all the replies. i have never had a misfire yet but was just thinking i might want to try a musket nipple. i have had my gpr rifle for several years and truly love it. thanks again
 
Unless your GPR's hammer is centered with the #11 nipple within 1/32" or less you may find that a Musket cap interferes with the lip around the nose of the hammer.
Because of their larger diameter this interference is often seen by folks who think they want to replace their standard #11 nipple with a musket cap.
 
If it ain't broke, don't fix it! :wink:

If you want an edge in bad weather, or are using a sub, try CCI Magnum #11's on a hot shot nipple. More bark and plenty of bite!
