Hello,
I am offering for sale a Lyman Great Plains Hunter rifle. This one is in excellent shape. The bore is very clean and shiny. The rifle has been partially defarbed- those Lyman "paragraphs" have been removed (see pictures). The serial number was left intact. Asking price is $475 shipped (continental U.S. and only to locations where it is legal to receive).

Honestly, I am not sure. Have you had any other transactions involving rifles that you both from anyone in the U.S.?

No I haven’t, but I did have a friend from Colorado ship up a “ultimate sniper” stock once. He broke it down and sent it up as machine parts. It made it here through customs with no issues. I’m guessing if you felt adventurous, the same could be done with your smoke pole. Oh, I wish we were a part of the USA.

I don't know why anyone in the US would want to try to send a percussion muzzleloader to Canada.
Most likely, the gun would be stopped at customs and disappear into oblivion.
There's that and the possibility that the Canadian Customs would report the name and address of the sender to BTAF as a possible "gun runner".
In any case, you would be out the cost of the gun and you would end up with nothing to show for it.

Just as an fyi, I bought a percussion rifle from a well respected place of business in the US. It was shipped to me here in Alberta via the postal service. It was clearly marked on both the bill of sale (inside the box) and shipping/customs external documents as “Muzzleloading firearm circa. 1860). I received it in the mail and was wrapped in customs tape indicating that it had been inspected. No issues. However this was about 4 years ago, and as the song goes “the times they are a changing.”
I would never recommend one try to ship via assorted parts in assorted packages or lie to customs. I do not see that turning out good.

CGN is one of my favourite internet sites. I’ve been watching for firearms quite regularly. My last purchase from CGN was two 12 ga pump shotguns for my wife and I.
