Does Kroil damage Blued barrel finish? I have some stuck choke tubes in pedersoli 10 gauge that haven't budged with choke wrench.
I bought a Browning barrel that had a tube STUCK but good. I soaked it in Kroil overnight, wouldn't budge. Then Acetone / ATF overnight. No budge. Bought a heavy duty choke wrench in the mean time as the one I had was tweaking the nubs. Still no budge. Heated the barrel with a heatgun till smoking oil, put some muscle on the wrench and it started to give. Put back in Kroll- Acetone/ATF mixture and the next day it came right out. Barrel is fine, with no bluing discolor nor heat discoloring.
Anti seize is relatively cheap, wish more people would use it, here on the farm it gets used on most everything.

Luckily my choke wrench has a square hole in the middle that fits on a socket wrench. I have 1 of the 2 out so far, but havtried heat, heat, Kroll, acetone,or ATF

Why haven't you fired the obstruction out by putting powder behind it?
Whatever may be in there has already been through the barrel once.

Kroil will not do anything to bluing or browning, I have used it for years on firearms.

For the unmentionables, let a barrel set overnight with Kroil in it and usually any leading will push right out with a tight patch.

Update, barrel is not loaded, the patent breech threw me off. Will be heating at the snail per IdahoRon to remove it the next time I see him.

Did you try "springing a ram rod"? An empty barrel with give you a clanging metal sound and will bounce.. A thud means there is a lead ball in it. If you have access to an air compressor use a direct high pressure line to blow out the charge-POINT IT IN A SAFE DIRECTION! Use a cut off valve stem (the wide rubber bottom part) to seal the nipple and the air nozzle. Try to use an OLDER air compressor air nozzle as the newer ones have a blocking piece in them to limit air pressure to a "SAFE OSHA LEVEL". You can also use a value stem with the center removed and use a standard air chuck ,which is a straight air shot. My head mechanic made me a nipple wrench out of SNAP ON brand parts that worked great and didn't break. ALWAYS use Nev'r Seize on nipple threads and only snug the nipple into the barrel DON'T MUSCLE IT"!---- Kroil does not damage gun bluing, but vinegar and rust remover will as bluing is a form of rust. Work slow and good luck!

In re-enacting, an NCO will always walk down the line (of military guys, anyway) and each man must "Spring Rammers" to indicate an unloaded musket. We did this often in Rev War enacting, and I believe the CW troops do , too. Thanks for the tip on Nev'r Seize.

The guy said the buyer knew who owned it prior. So "knew it's history". I'm not short changing safety, but the barrels on those things, ( I have one) are incredibly THICK! I'm sure you guys will figure it out and report back on it's condition.
The barrels are so thick, made of modern steel, I don't think a 20mm cannon shell would crack it!:)

Having been a reenactor once upon a time, I can tell you that an unloaded gun won't always "ping" even if clean and a patent breech probably won't either. The "ping" comes from a ramrod hitting a flat breech face.
