I got a PA Fisher this year. A huge male. They don't bring as much at auction as the smaller males and females, But he's beautiful. I've thought of mounting him. $600 to $700. I'm just not that big on mounts, I mean I have some deer, a bear, and a bunch of ducks. I'm thinking about just tanning him myself as a wall hang feet on and all. It's just not doing it for me.

How would I go about turning him into a shooting bag? I'm not worried about hard work, just don't want to make the wrong cuts and ruin him. How would it hold up? I have a small beaver and a few small coons I tanned last year as they wernt worth sending to auction. Maybe I should practice on them? How would it even look making a bag out of a hide? You dont see many fur bags.
Let me know what you guys think. If anyone has fur bags please post a picture if you can.
Thanks

I would get the fisher tanned.

I've seen bags with fur on the flap. The head of a coon, coyote, or badger would look great.
