Making flints

Next up is to get some good chert ,knock off some spawls and make some decent gun flints.
The tools in the video will be simple to make with stuff on hand.
I was thinking tonight while using the copper pressure flaker that this would be a very good tool to sharpen gun flints with rather than a percussor. MD

Despise not small beginnings: :rotf:
My first usable gun flint made by percussion and pressure flaking.

I installed it in by Kentucky flint pistol and it sparks like crazy! This is neat and fun to do but a good knapper would have gotten a real laugh at the amount of broken up rock and chips at my feet to yield one little ole pistol flint. Actually I was making an arrow point and knocked off this flake with my copper bopper and after destroying the point, salvaged this measly gun flint out of the attempt. MD
