Looks good to me! Nice grain in the wood. Pics are kind of dark and I can't see them real well. Big improvement over factory stock.

Bob,

Looks like you done good. Beautiful grain in the new stock. The bottom line is whether you are satisfied or not. I get the impression that you are b/c you were so busy admiring your new stock that you missed that nice buck sneaking behind you in the top pic.

I'd say you is heading in the right direction. That's one good looking piece of wood. What kind of stain and finish did you use on it?
Just one other question: who's that ugly fella holding your rifle? (just kidding Bob), that thing won't shoot from Pa to Ky will it?

jersey....yeah that buck is just about 90 degrees behind me :haha:....oh man i'm getting just bout as bad as moosketman :shocking:....3thdoc....i used minwax no# 605 mahogany gel stain i think it was oil based....and i finished off with bout 6 coats of b/c's tru-oil....i'm judging the trajectory for the shot now ::....i think i'll need bout 400 grains of 3f to make it there....but i'm not going to press my new toy ::..............bob

One fine piece of work!Don't think anyone could have done better. Thanks for shareing Your project. :applause: :applause: /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

why thank you my good man /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif................bob

Boy, that gun has so many stripes on it there almost wasn't a place to put the non striped wood!!

Beautiful job.
Now the real question: Does the ball still come out of the muzzle with a big cloud of white smoke right behind it? ::

Seriously, I think the increased drop will be a real improvement over the factory stock. I don't think you will even notice a change in the recoil, and the sights will come up to your eye a lot better.

so ya think i got my 200.00 dollars worth from Pecatonica River Long Rifle Supply, Inc....i think so....soon to have my old T/C stock made into a .40 flintlock small gamer.............................bob

Gasp!!! That stock is beautiful!! The striping is incredible.

I'd say your quite a gunsmith.

Maybe you'll make another one from scratch next.

right after i put my old T/C stock on a GM .40 flintlock barrel for small game....i'm going to try a long rifle with the same grade 4 maple stock from Pecatonica River Long Rifle Supply, Inc....also a .50 flintlock pistol in the same maple.....................bob
