Has anyone tried a Marble Arms barrel mounted peep? i think it would work...hopefully without having to resort to a ramped front.

Here is marble's website:

It will work if you mount it rather far back on the wrist of the stock, it is much too high to mount up on the breech tang. I haven't used a Marble's but have used the similar sights made by lyman and Uberti. You'll have to place it on the stock and slide it forward and back until it is aligned with the open sights to locate the right spot for mounting. After mounting the tang sight you will, of course, remove the open rear sight. That is unless you wish to use a folding open rear sight zeroed for short range and use the tang sight for long range.
