Got in a ground blind up on the powerline an hour before sunrise. About 9:15 two deer popped out of the woods directly across from me on the other side of the powerline at just around 60 yds. I raised my sidelock to get a bead on one of them. Before I could pull the trigger, they bolted across the powerline on about a 45 degree angle. I readjusted in the blind and stuck my barrel out the right side of the blind. I had to stand up in a half off balance crouch. One of the deer was standing about 55 yds down from me at the edge of the woods looking over it's shoulder back to where it came from. Not wanting to take any chances of it bolting again I squeezed one off as soon as I lined up the front sight thru my peep. At the shot the deer did a 60 yd dash back across the powerline and crashed as soon as it hit the woods. The 460 grainer made two nice holes thru the shoulders with plenty of blood.Nice - details on the hunt, please.
You might be thinking of someone else. I wish I did have my “own lovely builds”.Nice hunt! I am surprised you didn’t use one of your own lovely builds.
