Went to the Kempton gunmakers fair this past weekend. Had a great time. Found a lyman .760 ball mold for my 77 cal Rifle Shoppe matchlock. Fits my gun well. There was a group there called the Colonial history Alliance. They had a nice collection of repo matchlocks and some original wheel locks, hand gonnes, and more. Here are some photos for your enjoyment.

I would have liked to visit the show this year. Saturday was spent at my local R/P club. Three of the club members were busy showing women how muzzle loaders loaded, and they had the chance to experience shooting one of our rifles. We were constantly busy. The women shot at clay birds, attached to a backer board. All the birds were broken, most by first time shooters.

Spoke with one of Leonard Days sons at the show and he said he intends to continue building the guns he and his dad built. This includes a nice .62 cal matchlock musket.

Thanks Flint i did not grab the contact info when i was there.

Yeah, I saw them, too. Very specialized! Gotta really be into your era with that early stuff.

There is a chance the sons may be using a new phone#, but this should get you to the family.
Ahh ok, that is the old info. I knew Mr. Day didn't like using the internet. I though maybe his sons might have updated to an online contact. It's cool!

Tried calling the # for Leonard Day and Sons. Says the number isn't in service. Does anyone have contact info for them?
