All geared up and ready to go. Excuse the paracord. The leather thong I had as a horn strap broke as I was trying to adjust it (to be fair, I think I bought it during the Clinton administration) and that’s all I had handy. Ended up a little shorter than I wanted. I’m hoping to weave a wampum strap for it this winter. The plaid bag behind it is a possibles bag that I sewed together a bunch of years back from plans in either Fur Fish & Game or Backwoodsman magazine.

Those look very nice. Well done.

OK... I just hadn't seen that word outside of one town.

call people in the woods mush. Lol.. what's up mush see anything.
Actually, Trigger, no. I do not call people in the woods "mush" unless they utilize mush for brains mentality. Like shooting off their firearms in an irresponsible fashion. Most people in the woods are simply hunters that does it correctly.

Mush is also a known command for a dogsledder to the dogs.........mush... "go". I reckon it works better than "Gitty-Up horses". :)

Wowser. Forecast calling for the high this weekend to be about 31 and a low of about 17 degrees. That will put a stop to the squirrel hunting for a while. Looks like after today, there’s only one more day this week of good squirrel hunting weather.

It’s becoming more obvious that this ole boy has most likely missed the best part of squirrel season this year. Darn it all, this has been one heck of a screwed up year for me all the way around. The best I can do is to keep soldiering on. Lots of walking to do this year in search of interesting things.

Confidence means a lot in hunting for this ole boy. Gotta keep looking.

It's not a real bad slang.. if they new they would say hey mush what's up back..

Is like if you're a mush.. then you might hang out at Dinkins donuts with a couple buddy's standing around the truck and or car being a Mush.

Oh come on now Ed, that’s prime squirrel temperature!
Here is a picture of the temp outside last year when I went squirrel hunting. That was a little too cold. 🥶
