I’m working on turning chargers on the springpole lathe. The issue is that unless I convert it for a drive spindle (haven’t seen it this early) I will have to bore them out. ECW military contracts all specify that they’re to be turned hollow, not bored. Fred and Terry point out that they wouldn’t have banned the practice if nobody was doing it…It might be too narrow/specialized for a general audience, but I’d love to see something in depth on the construction and use of bandoliers of charges. I was shooting with mine a few weeks back and it struck me how much it varies from paper cartridges.

I saw you guys just posted another great one!
I love seeing these tests/experimental archeology!
Check out the rest of the channel. They have another great one on the achievable rate of fire of a matchlock and a good explanation why it wasn’t historically relevant.I really enjoyed this video...going to pass it around! Very informative!
If only there were more pre flintlock channels… it’s mostly up to Jamestown and capnball to fill the voidTobJohn I have been on the Jamestown channel....and now almost through with "Savage Kingdom"...most interesting indeed!!!
Another great video and a fascinating display of the mindboggling amount of time and labor involved in armor making!
