Just bought a box locally for $17, so the price on T/C's web site makes me think they don't want to have to deal with end-users, they want to ship to retailers!

My local shop has a lot of them and I'm sure if you called them they would make you a deal. (715) 258-2514. The owner works another job but is there this morning and tomorow. His kid runs the place otherwise. Ask for Rodney or Buck. Hope this helps someone.

Lubed with Bore Butter and in a plastic T/C box of 20 (with you removing 5)? Otherwise not quite sure if we're at Apples to Apples???

I just recently replaced my toilet, and was wondering if the wax ring would make a good lube for maxi balls, i was thinking of mixing half bore butter and half wax ring in a pan and melting it and see how it works.has any one tried it yet?

Smooth?, crunchy? or extra crunchy? Peter Pan?, Jiff?, HEB brand?, Wal-Mart brand? Or what? :blah: :haha:

Just yankin' your chain. :haha: Have you ever actually tried peanut better as a lube? If so, tell us about it.

In years past, they used bees wax for the toilet gaskets but not any more. That is some sort of synthetic material that resembles bees wax. I actually have no idea what it is but I wouldn't try it in my gun. No telling what it might do. You could end up with a heck of a mess to clean out of your barrel. If you search online for bee keepers, you will find some who will sell you real bees wax. The stuff comes in different grades. Buy the lowest grade. It will be darker in color but that won't have any effect on how well it works as a lube. It will also have bee parts in it, wings, legs, etc. To clean them out, all you have to do is to melt the bees wax and pour it through some folded cheesecloth. Then you will need to clean any honey out of it. To do this, just place it in some boiling water, stir well and remove from the heat. Allow it to cool and solidify. You can improve the process by putting it in the refrigerator. the bees wax will harden and you can lift it off. It will be clean and ready to use. The residual honey that was in the wax will now be in the water and you just pour it down the drain. The telling of the cleaning process takes more time to type than it does to do the cleaning. Believe me, it is worth the slight trouble when you compare the price of the highest grade of bees wax to the price of the lowest grade.

Easier, IMHO, contact your county extension agent and ask him for contact info of beekeepers in your county. That way you can meet folks who keep bees and, maybe, get yer wax free. More better, buy some honey from them and make a friend forever.

Not quite sure about using toilet seals in Maxi's but a good friend of mine swears by using it on the arbor of his Colt revolvers. He says it works just great and keeps his cylinder spinnin' around all day long without binding-up on fouling.

If you are leaving a wax ring in your toilet you definitely need to go easy on the peanut butter

Aint tried it yet but fixing to. Some oily colloidal paste that might be good right out of the jar would be good to know about. And there's only one way I'm gonna find out. :haha:
