In years past, they used bees wax for the toilet gaskets but not any more. That is some sort of synthetic material that resembles bees wax. I actually have no idea what it is but I wouldn't try it in my gun. No telling what it might do. You could end up with a heck of a mess to clean out of your barrel. If you search online for bee keepers, you will find some who will sell you real bees wax. The stuff comes in different grades. Buy the lowest grade. It will be darker in color but that won't have any effect on how well it works as a lube. It will also have bee parts in it, wings, legs, etc. To clean them out, all you have to do is to melt the bees wax and pour it through some folded cheesecloth. Then you will need to clean any honey out of it. To do this, just place it in some boiling water, stir well and remove from the heat. Allow it to cool and solidify. You can improve the process by putting it in the refrigerator. the bees wax will harden and you can lift it off. It will be clean and ready to use. The residual honey that was in the wax will now be in the water and you just pour it down the drain. The telling of the cleaning process takes more time to type than it does to do the cleaning. Believe me, it is worth the slight trouble when you compare the price of the highest grade of bees wax to the price of the lowest grade.
