Mid 17th century barrels project

[Flintlock1640]

I came so close to missing out on this I really can't believe it. On auctionzip I bought a couple lots of early parts. A third lot did not get a bid and I got afterwards for less than the starting bid. Thank goodness I did since the unusual barrel tang was in a separate lot from the barrels. I'd like to get feedback from you all if you have seen this configuration before and how it should look. It's obviously an over/under pistol with a sliding pan that slides left to right on the lock and has a slot in the barrel. The lower touch hole goes through both barrels and there is a threaded screw hole for the lock plate. The lower barrel leaves no room for a main spring so I am assuming this is for either a miquelet lock or some sort of back-action flintlock. Has anyone seen one?

From this book: Brescian Firearms from matchlock to flinlock. A compendium of names, marks and works together with an attempt at classification, the below entry is the closest I could find to match the maker’s mark. There is a huge variety of makers marks that are a variation on “lazarino cominazzo”, with different spellings and decoration. They are a family of barrel makers from Brescia.

I think for this I'm gonna have to be a little creative and thought I'd run my thoughts by you. The earliest over under with a sliding pan I can find is late 17th century. It does have a sliding notch in the barrel so that aspect of the mechanism would theoretically be easy enough to copy with a good bit of fabrication. The lock I'm thinking about copying is one from Lenk's book ca 1640s or 50s with a back-action flintlock on a d
Over-under musket (but with two locks). It will be slightly more interesting because the screw hole is too far out for a frizzen so I'd be looking at designing a snaphaunce lock with pan cover on top of the sliding pan. Should be fun. Hopefully I can at least source the cock and snaphaunce battery and spring and some internal parts. What do you all think? Am I approaching fantasy not knowing what it was like or am I right that this is a logical mixture?

I'm having some fun with concept right now. I haven't decided whether that barrel screw hole is going to be just for the lock or for a snaphaunce battery. I realize I have the mechanics wrong for the snaphaunce slide but this is just getting the concept on paper. Any thoughts and suggestions are most welcome. I also include what the cock and frizzen would look like if I go with flintlock and what style cock and battery I would go with for a snaphaunce. Last is a photo of the style stock I would go for. The lock shape is based on similar flintlock ca 1630s. Should be fun. Might be a twenty year project lol
