Beautiful job. That is sort of the kind of gun I am looking for. A shorter overall length long rifle with a .58 cal barrel which still maintains it's stylish good looks. I have long been a fan of the .58 cal. It may be overkill for deer but I do enjoy not having to track them too far. Congrats.

That was the quest I was on and when I found euro schools I was hooked. The rut of precarves seems to have everyone thinking jaegers were all short and thick and it just isn't true. Same goes with the Ed Marshall, it seems to be the compromise build now days although it isn't exactly graceful. The barrel was made in Germany so you can figure out that length wasn't unique there. A great place to start if you don't have it is Shumway's Jaeger rifle book. It has a nice overview of several schools. The .58 is my favorite cal too and I've never heard any critters complain about it.
