Would it be ok to use Mobil1 syn grease as a over the ball lube in a revolver.
I don’t know why it wouldn’t be worth a try… a few rounds anyway and see how it goes. You have the grease, the gun and hopefully some time…Just wondering, because I bought some to pack the action. After experimenting with that I decided I would rather not pack. Now I have a can of grease. I usually use Crisco so will just put the grease on the shelf, thanks tenngun.
YES..., petroleum or synthetic lubes and black powder fouling usually combine to make black goo...Seems it sure would be messy mess to clean up afterwards.
Exactly. I use Stihl HP synthetic in my bullet lube and lately in patch lube too.Synthetic lubes get along with B.P. just fine. The competition crowd proved that many yrs ago. I've never heard of anyone using it for loading purposes though. You don't know till ya try. Be adventurous and tell your story.
