Man, I'm afraid I'm losing my mind. I remember posting a reply to this gun several days ago, but when I came back to enjoy it again I noticed that my forgetter is working better than my rememberer!

Well, at this point, there isn't much new I can add.

Beautiful gun, great architecture, wonderful finish, etc.

Some guns just force you to want to pick them up and feel them. This is one of those for me.

Thanks for the pictures.

Thanks Travis. That's just what I was going for.

Thank to everybody else too.

Here are the pictures of the grass green stock after the FN stain was applied. Photos are a little deceiving as it was greener, especially when wet.

I tested it on cut offs first but didn't have one for the patchbox, as it came from a different piece of wood, so I tested on the inside of it before I applied it to the whole lid....shows the contrast nicely. Enjoy, J.D.

Could you post a picture of the top of the butt plate return?
Here ya go David:

Not the easiest buttplate to install, what with the ears of wood on either side. :shake: Enjoy, J.D.

Wow,
Folks look at that lock mortice. That's near fine English quality.

I got a chance to see this beautiful gun in the flesh today, and the pics on here do her no justice!!

Molly should be quite proud to carry such a rifle, and by Her smile today, I am sure She will be!

Glad I didn't have my Boy along, Id be having to explain right about now that His Dad doesn't have that kind of talent and patience!

A real beauty JD, thanks for sharing!

For all that showed interest in my previous post http://www.muzzleloadingforum.com/fusionbb/showtopic.php?tid/280952/ about the gun I built for my daughter, Molly, thanks again. Molly really enjoyed reading all your feedback....as did I.

Well, Molly insisted that we enter it at Dixon's Gunbuilders' Fair as she wanted a ribbon to hang with it over her bed.

I thought I would update you all on how she fared. Molly got her ribbon.

Absolutely beautiful! Well done!

Now I can't wait to see the one her twin sister wants? Hey, will it be a lefty version of the Molly arm? I'm an identical/mirror image twin (I know, my poor brother ... ) as I'm left-handed and he's right-handed ...
