Thanks again, Everybody.....and Tom Tom! My head is still kinda in the clouds and my mentor asked me this evening what I'm planning to build for next year already. We'll just have to see, I guess. :idunno:

I do have enough parts set aside to keep me busy for a while. I've been accused of being a collector....of parts!

Sorry Rusty, but no plans for a Hawken anytime soon....I think I'll stick to our Pennsylvania builds for a while....though I'm tempted to through out a Vincent for a challenge.

Thanks for all the support. Enjoy, J.D.

Hey Dale,

Your post deserves its own reply. My wife and I tell people our twins couldn't be more different if they were somebody else's kids. Emily shows NO interest in guns or woodscraft. She'll get a period hand dovetailed chest instead.

Both girls thoroughly enjoyed Dixon's though and took advantage of some of the classes, learned to weave on an inkle loom and have started making the period woven straps like we use on powder horns.

They had already visited to the Honorable Company of Horners Convention with me in Carlisle, PA last year and were enamored with the wares displayed there. I took them out of school on an "educational field trip".

They already have some people speaking up to take their horn straps as they finish. Likely I will have to build a second loom. :hmm:

The people involved in our crafts are the most giving people I've ever had the pleasure of associating with....especially with the youth who show interest. Carrying on the tradition!

I could go on and on, but....Thanks and Enjoy, J.D.
