Moose cream is sumthin i found when messen with sum of stumpys caster oil brews.Ive been wipen it on the outside of my bores for rust protection.Havnt used it in the bore so i dont know how it would work.Aint shot none yet either but a small drop about 1/4 the size of a patch an worken in reminds me of a prelubed store bought bore butter patch.
It seems to work on the outside of the barrel of both guns that have all the bluen removed.
1part caster oil mixed with 1part murphys oil soap, moose cream :hmm:makes a darn good hand softener too ::

Yes, History DOES repeat itself, only it costs twice as much the second time around.

- Gila Grease - Jack Juice - Bobcat Cream - Mouse Mush - Buzzard Butter - Elk EjaaaaaaaI think this has gone far enough.

I am going to make my own lube. I'm gonna call it Moose Mucus.
Now all I gotta do is find a moose with a runny nose!
Jim

"Moose Snot" is already being used by quite a number of us.
: Is Mucus similar?- beeswax, castor oil and murphy's?
: I expect if the beeswax is increased 4 fold, it might make a good, nonmelting bullet lube. It might also be too 'slippery' for that purpose.

I haven't made any yet or even figured out the formula. I just made up the name.
I really need to get close to a snotty moose so I can study the consistancy of the drippings.
I may need to use kleenex for patch material. :)
Jim

I took a round pillow ticklen patch that i cut me self and applyed sum moose cream to it about half the size of the patch, didnt work it in just spread it evenly all over one side so i couldnt see the patch and let it set for a day. This is a ticklen that on my caliper is 25 that crushes to 15,probably really aint that thick but is close.it all soaked in by its self.i figuerd it would be well overly lubed but its not.The side with the cream on has a very light coat of lube on it and the other side almost dry.Looks like it would be a good patch, like i say though i aint shot none.
No time, gonna throw sum slugs out of the 1100 the next 4 days, have 3 tags filled an 2 to go.
Wish sum of you fellers would mix a small quanity of the cream an see what ya think, seems to stay mixed togeather good.Might be a real shooter, might not :hmm:
