Would you engrave before or after the star is installed?Getting some more work done on the Albrecht build. I made the hunters star and shaped it to the stock. It's ready to inlet into the stock.

Started reading this thread this morning. I thought with 15 pages the new entries would be range report of a finished gun .
I have enjoyed the read with all your pictures. Nice piece of wood also. What thickness was the brass for your thimbles ? It didn’t look like enough material to later file on.

I got the carving drawn on the stock but had to set it down for a while. A lot going on with the family, Dad passed, taking care of Mom etc.@Hatchet-Jack Any new updates on the build?
